The Emergence Space

Over the next three months, I am pushing pause on my business and creating a space to explore what the path forward wants to be. I’m calling it The Emergence Space.

I am approaching that time as a space of pure possibility. There are some core pieces of the puzzle that need to be part of the equation in wherever the path takes me, but beyond that, it is about approaching what’s next with curiosity and an openness to insights and opportunity.

No doubt it will evolve as it progresses, but right now I see the heart of how I spend the next three months as having a bazillion conversations (give or take a few). Not to try to pitch anything, but to explore what resonates with people, what needs they see, what possibilities might come up, who I should meet, etc.

I see it as a big research and development project that doubles as an amazing excuse to meet new people and plant the seeds of relationship (a much more accurate description of how I experience what is typically called networking).

How you can help

Business

I am stepping back from focusing on my business, but will still be “open for business” in a reduced capacity. Here are some of the possibilities, whether you would like to explore them yourself or you know someone that would.

Coaching

I offer both coaching for individuals and executive coaching in organizations. All of the areas of focus fall under the umbrella of “Aliveness & Impact.” Those include:

  • Stress management
  • Change resilience (i.e., how do you navigate big hairy change)
  • Meaning and purpose
  • Career passion
  • Life sculpting (changing your life through small, doable additions and subtractions)
  • Creating a post-career life (i.e., retirement) of Aliveness & Impact

Brown bag lunch-and-learn

I can come in and share insights with your team on topics such as:

  • Stress reduction
  • Change resilience
  • How to feel more energized (at work and in life in general)
  • A brain-based guide to team performance
  • Harnessing the power of purpose.

Introductions

At the heart of this Emergence Space is the opportunity to connect with people. I would love any ideas you have for people I should know. Examples of the people who feel most aligned with my exploration include:

  • HR leaders
  • Senior executives
  • Corporate Social Responsibility professionals
  • Talent Development professionals
  • Anyone else you think I should know

The Ripple Revolution

Part of what has been feeling abundantly clear in all of this is that being a catalyst for connection and community for people who feel called to make the world a better place is an important piece of the puzzle for me.

As a first simple step, I am going to put together some Ripple Revolution meetups. If you are in the Seattle area and would like to be notified when I do, email me at curt@curtrosengren.com and I will add you to the list.

Whether or not you are in Seattle, you can download my free ebook, The Ripple Revolution Handbook. It is my first effort at distilling my vision and giving people specific insights and things they can do.

Living space

To give myself the room to do this, I am drastically reducing expenses and taking a highly mobile approach to life (i.e., I’m moving out of my apartment). I have a place to stay for the first few weeks, but beyond that I have no idea what’s in store.

My goal is to find low to no cost places to stay during that time (my magic want solution would be someone with a mother-in-law studio sitting empty who wants to trade living space for coaching during that time. I’m not realistically anticipating that that will be an option, but hey, if I don’t mention it, the odds get even smaller, right?).
